Jiangsu Oji Paper, a producer of market pulp and printing and writing papers and a subsidiary of Japan's Oji Holdings Corporation, is reducing its production of bleached hardwood kraft pulp at its Chinese mill in Jiangsu Province by a total of approximately 100,0001. As the company reports on request, this temporary measure comes in reaction to the corona virus pandemic, which has led to a temporary and sudden slump in demand for pulp and paper in China. The Chinese pulp mill in Jiangsu Province is currently closed for maintenance work and is not scheduled to start up again before the beginning of June.
