Complex Concrete Restoration Project

The Nansemond and VIP Treatment Plant Concrete Coating Repairs project, performed on a sewage treatment plant owned by Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) in Virginia, was a complex, multi-faceted job involving three distinct components: 1. repair and restore 24 concrete holding tanks, 32 ft by 32 ft by 30 ft each, and two clarifiers, 216 ft by 40 ft by 15 ft each; 2. remove and reapply coating on 48,000 sq ft of exterior steel pipe; and 3. remove and reapply coating on 60,000 sq ft of exterior concrete and steel decking. The work was done by Spensieri Incorporated (www.spensieri. com), an industrial contracting company serving the east coast and specializing in surface preparation, restoration, coating, and lining systems.
