Trenchless Technology Aids Gas Utilities

On the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, major gas utilities are realizing the tremendous economic and environmental benefits of adding trenchless pipeline rehabilitation to their maintenance programs as an alternative to dig and replace. These companies are using a relatively new form of lining technology that is available for the rehabilitation of gas mains through Progressive Pipeline Management of Middletown, N.J. Starline 2000, a cured-in-place lining system, was developed by the Karl Weiss Group of Berlin, Germany. To date, it has successfully rehabilitated more than 300 miles of natural gas mains in the United States and Europe.
