Archaeology won't stop construction

I received a copy of Public Works with the article about the Las Capas project in Pima County, Ariz. ("What lies beneath," February issue, page 48.) Thanks to the magazine for doing such a good job on the piece.rnEven though it is a regulatory obligation, many public works departments have legitimate concerns about archaeology compliance processes potentially stopping, or delaying, worthy projects. These are sometimes the first issues we address in the Pima County Cultural Resources Office when working with county public works departments.
