Consultants more mobile than ever

Spurred by advancements in collaborative project management and other business software, the median percentage of architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting firms that make remote access available to employees climbed from 19% in 2002 to a 10-year high this year of 44%. Supporting such functionality comes with a corresponding increase in online disk storage, from 1.4 gigabytes (GB) per employee in 2001 to 55.6 GB/employee today. These statistics come from the Information Technology Survey conducted by ZweigWhite, which provides these firms with business planning, valuation, financing, and other consulting services.
