Report highlights strong growth in coastal cities

The contents of a new report focusing on Australian population trends will be required reading for councils, particularly those in coastal areas. The report - released by the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics - looks at trends in six regional areas: capital cities, coastal cities, inland cities, coastal country areas, inland country areas and remote areas. It says the populations of coastal cities have consistently grown faster than Australia as a whole.
