Managing Maintenance Via Computer

Imagine the day when on-board vehicle event recorders will detect a defect and then, via the automated vehicle locator system, automatically notify the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to trigger an alarm to open a work order for that vehicle still in service. Through this on-line communication, the CMMS alerts maintenance personnel so required materials and crews are prepared for a vehicle's arrival at the nearest maintenance facility.
