Weston Homes and Columbia Threadneedle's plans to transform a much-neglected 1960s shopping centre into a £280m mixed-use scheme in Norwich's historic city centre have not been universally welcomed. Campaign groups reacted angrily to Norwich City Council's decision to approve plans for the 1.2m sq ft Anglia Square development, which comprise 1,234 homes, new leisure and retail units, a cinema and a 200-bed hotel, in December 2018.
