Row over IFC office scheme leaves Jersey divided

With the first phase of St Helier's International Finance Centre (IFC) coming out of the ground, Jersey's office market is about to be shaken up. But if the development's progress is a cause for celebration for some, anger among local developers about the scheme shows no sign of abating. Discontent has been bubbling away for years. The crux of the issue is that the IFC is being developed by the state-backed Jersey Development Company (JDC), leaving many local private sector developers furious that the government of the Crown dependency has gone into competition with them.
