John Lewis to sell Chelsea gem

One of London's most sought-after residential development sites is being prepared for sale that could lead to a scheme worth £500m. The Clearings site in the heart of Chelsea is to be sold by John Lewis Partnership though JLL at a price expected to reach more than £150m. Property Week International understands that several London developers have already been approached about the 1 acre site on Draycott Avenue, which is home to two warehouses and a council depot. The Clearings is likely to be attractive to international investors as well as developers. Clivedale Ventures, the UK family office of Indiabulls chairman Sameer Gehlaut, is thought to be looking for sites, as are international firms Fosun, Capitaland, Nan Fung and Singapore Land.
