Opportunities for UK private investors to invest indirectly - through property and other funds known as unregulated collective investment schemes (UCIS) -will be severely restricted if proposals recently issued by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) take effect. The FSA is consulting on the proposals and inviting responses by 14 November, ahead of implementation in early 2013.
