UK commercial property produced an annual return of more than 2% last year after the extraordinary revival in the market's fortunes in the second half.Investment Property Databank (IPD)'s final Monthly Index for 2009, published last Friday, showed returns for 2009 were 2.2% (see table). Although the benchmark figure for returns is IPD's much larger annual - due on 3 February - rather than monthly index, the results for the two are usually not far apart.
