Israeli billionaire nochi dankner has teamed up with property investor Jacob Schimmel to bid for a stake in British Land's Broadgate Estate as part of a huge UK spending spree.Israel Discount Bank, which is known as the IDB Group and is headed by Dankner, has joined forces with Schimmel's Rock Real Estate Partners with the aim of targeting long-term income properties in the UK.It emerged this week that IDB, which is listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, has entered into talks with British Land on a potential purchase of a stake in the Broadgate Estate in the City of London. The talks are exploratory and IDB has not placed the stake under offer at this point.However, IDB is thought to be keen to enter the UK property market and has already considered several London properties, among them a sale and leaseback of Credit Suisse's 25 Columbus Courtyard in London's Docklands.
