'You can have a very sustainable life if you are in London, and hopefully I do.'Janet Kidner does not drive. She cycles to work and buys locally sourced produce at her nearest Budgens in Belsize Parkin north London. But as head of sustainability for the UK arm of global developer Lend Lease Retail & Communities, she has more influence on green issues than most 27-year-olds. Does she find that daunting?'No,' she replies, unequivocally. 'I'm fortunate that I've studied environmental science at the right time. I've built up a huge amount of experience, which meant I was well placed to go client-side and into Lend Lease. It is a great opportunity.'Kidner is one of a trio of women in top sustainability jobs at three of Britain's largest developers. The other two are Claudine Blarney, head of sustainability at Segro, and Sarah Cary, the sustainable developments executive on British Land's biggest developments, in particular its central London offices.
