£100m Beta test for Microsoft's UK headquarters

Microsoft's UK headquarters, which is held in a massive regional property portfolio that was placed into receivership last year, is being brought to the market for sale. Agents are being invited to pitch for the mandate to sell buildings 1-3 at the Thames Valley Park in Reading, which total 246,000 sq ft and form the largest asset within Mapeley's 16-office Beta portfolio. Market sources describe the headquarters as the south-east's top asset outside central London and have valued the buildings at £100m. The 1.18m sq ft Beta portfolio was placed into receivership last year after its value plummeted from £278m in 2005 to £134m in 2012.
