Investment volumes hit highest level since 2007

Investment volumes for UK property reached £45bn in 2013 and are likely to reach or surpass this figure in 2014, according to Lambert Smith Hampton's UK Investment Transactions report. The 2013 figure represents a 50% increase on the figure for 2012. It was ahead of a predicted figure of £30bn at the start of the year, and comfortably the highest since the peak of the market in 2007. The fourth-quarter transaction figure of £17.1bn is the highest quarterly figure since the second quarter of 2007.
