'Property managers break data protection laws', claims law firm

More than 40% of property managers are breaking the most basic requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998, law firm Speechly Bircham has reported in a survey.The law firm examined 100 property management firms working in both the residential and commercial sectors and found that more than 40 had not registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller. The act requires that organisations processing personal data must notify the office of their activities.
