Investors not crossing street for ITV site

Best bids are due in for ITV's 13.5 acre Quay Street site in central Manchester next month. A Scandinavian investor has expressed strong interest in the development but many other likely candidates have ruled themselves out. Allied London and Urban Splash are believed to be considering a joint bid but other possible suitors, such as Hines, Muse, BAM Properties, Bruntwood and Delancey, are unlikely to. ITV is understood to want as much as £50m for the site that has consent for 1.2m sq ft of offices, 200,000 sq ft of retail, 895 homes and a 575-space car park. An agreement is expected in September and a final exchange by the end of the year. The vacant site will not be handed over until the middle of 2013, when the whole of ITV moves to Media City. The last element to move will be the set of Coronation Street.
