Angelo Gordon buys science park portfolio

Giant US investment manager Angelo Gordon has snapped up a portfolio of UK science and technology parks for justunder£95m. With joint-venture (JV) partner Trinity Investment Management, it has agreed a deal to buy the five-strong portfolio from the Mars Pension Fund, which is advised by LaSalle Investment Management. It exchanged contracts during the Christmas period and is expected to complete the deal in the coming weeks. The newly formed JV will look to capitalise on the growth in the UK science and technology park sector, which has been led by a surge in the number of start-up businesses emanating from that field.
