Construction activity across regional cities booms in 2018

Regional cities had a bumperyear of construction across the board in 2018, according to Deloitte's most recent crane surveys. The city with the highest level of construction activity was Manchester, where resi led the way, as it did in Birmingham and Leeds. Manchester had 48 residential schemes on site last year, compared with 41 in 2017. Deloitte's survey shows that 13,439 homes were completed in the city between 2007 and 2018, whereas in the next two years alone an estimated 14,480 will be finished.
