According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), more than 730 workers died from exposure to electricity from 2012 to 2016, with 80% of fatal injuries resulting from direct exposure to electricity when workers were engaged in construction, repair or cleaning activities. To improve awareness about the importance of electrical safety in the workplace and the home, NFPA recently launched a project in collaboration with the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, Faces of Fire: Electrical Hazard Awareness. The project features stories of people impacted by electrical incidents and demonstrates the need for continued education and awareness about these kinds of hazards.
