Some years ago there was a boss who was so mis-rnerable. However miserable his personality, he still had a few insightful expressions. One repeated insight was, "Question everything!" In reading published material, even in reputable journals, that is an essential caution. When taking things off the net it is especially necessary since sources are often unidentifiedrnand data are published unsupported.
