CDC Study Reports Costs of Motor Vehicle Crashes

In a recent CDC study published in Traffic Injury Prevention, the agency found the cost of medical care and productivity losses (in a 1-year period) associated with injuries from motor vehicle crashes was more than $99 billion. The study also found the total annual cost amounts to almost $500 per licensed driver in the U.S. CDC's Grant Baldwin says that every 10 seconds, someone in the U.S. is treated for crash-related injuries.
