Report Shows Safety Laws Save Lives

Safety advocates are using a recent report, "Advocacy for Safety Cars, Safe Driving and Safety Roads: 20 Years of Saving Lives and Reducing Costs from Traffic Crashes," to convince lawmakers to enact additional safety measures that would help reduce roadway fatalities and lower the costs of such incidents. The report, released by Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, shows that federal and state auto safety laws enacted over the past 20 years have saved more than 85,000 lives and more than $600 billion in costs.
