Certification Process for Fireworks Transport Updated

Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) updated its certification process for the transport of consumer fireworks to make approvals quicker and more efficient while continuing to uphold strict safety requirements. PHMSA's consumer fireworks approval program has seen an influx of applications in recent years, resulting in a backlog. To improve the application process, PHMSA conducted an extensive review and found collaborating with DOT's approved fireworks certification agencies (FCA) would offer increased flexibility for the fireworks industry without disturbing current safety standards.
