Report Presents High-Level Gap Analysis of Worker Safety in Bangladesh

NFPA recently issued "Bangladesh Ready-Made Garment (RMG) Industry High-Level Assessment Report." NFPA partnered with the University of Maryland on a fact-finding mission in August 2015 that included factory visits and stakeholder interviews. This report presents a high-level impact assessment and gap analysis of Bangladesh fire and building safety standards, protocols, inspection procedures and training programs. The report also outlines short-term recommendations that the alliance can apply now, as well as long-term recommendations that provide a road map for sustainable electrical, fire and life safety in RMG manufacturing facilities.
