The Low Carbon Transition Plan outlines how the UK will achieve a cut in carbon emissions of 34 per cent by 2020. More than 1.2m people are expected to be in green jobs by 2020, while around 10 per cent of the annual emissions cuts between now and 2020 will be achieved through greater efficiencies in the workplace. The plan also states that offices, factories, schools and hospitals will need to reduce emissions to "almost zero" by 2050.
