Groundbreaking accountant and management consultant Anthony Howitt has died aged 93. A World War Ⅱ veteran, Maj Howitt laid the foundations of the management consultancy profession by developing the consulting arm of KPMG. A natural innovator, Howitt was among the first accountants to recognise how computers would change accounting. His sharp mind was highly valued, particularly in the Middle East, where he worked as a financial adviser for many countries, winning a Queen's Award for Export.
