I was interested in reading the Secret Manager's experience of having to tackle the body odour problems of a colleague (Autumn, page 7). I, too, have had to deal with a similar situation. While, like the Secret Manager, I considered the direct approach, I took a step back and thought about how I would want to be treated in such circumstances, I chose the person who was on the best of terms with the colleague suffering from the problemand, ratherthan jumping in feet first, asked them to have a word. This did reduce the issue over the coming weeks. While, subsequently, personal issues came to light that I had to deal with, I nevertheless felt that the initial approach was the right one.
