Guide to Implement Lean Engineering in SME

摘要

This article illustrates the main features of Lean Engineering (LE) as well as its emergence, characteristics and influence on the product creation process. Furthermore, the initial situation of LE in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is displayed, just like the importance of SMEs for the German industry to highlight the potential of the application of LE. In the next step, the definition of a guide to implement LE in SMEs takes place with the VDI-guideline 2870-1 serving as a model. At last a short conclusion will be given.
