Managerial Perceptions of Quality Control in japanese Businesses

This study examines managerial perceptions of quality con- trol through a field study in Japan, a country synonymous with the work quality. The goal of the project is not only to deter- mine what is occurring in Japanese firms regarding quality is- sues but also to learn and understand the use of statistics as applied to quality in actual practice. The sample of firms con- sists of 16 manufacturing and 8 service companies in various industry sectors, including automotive, pharmaceutical, and telecommunications.
