CPSC staffers are targeting June 30 to complete much work related to a 2006 notice of proposed rulemaking (NPR) on all terrain vehicles (ATVs), according to a status report made available March 24.The NPR (PSL, 7/17/06, p.1) addresses issues related to youth injuries, including performance standards and education efforts.It was sparked by a 2003 petition that targeted youth riders.Althoughrnthe commission voted to proceed with the NPR, it denied the petition.
