摘要

Adopting two curvature variation expressions for a circular arch, we derive their shape functions that are general solu- tions of linear static problems. Using the shape functions, we construct stiffness matrices of arch elements. The stiffness matrices allow us to get analytical solution of elastic systems with the elements. Applying the finite element method to analyze natural frequencies analyses of ring with various parameters, we examine and demonstrate present new discretizing methods, which give us precise solutions. All the solutions analyzed here are compared with those obtained by some methods with typical well-known shape functions.
