摘要

In this article, the flow pattern of an indirect dry cooling tower (Heller) under cross-wind conditions has been numerically investigated and the obtained results have been compared with the available experimental results. Furthermore, the phenomena responsible for the reduction of air intake flowrate (AIFR) under cross-wind conditions have been identified. The influences of wind speed increase on the flow pattern inside the tower and on the AIFR have been studied quantitatively and qualitatively. Finally, by adding radial windbreak walls to the base section of tower, their effect on the flow pattern and on tower performance from the AIFR perspective has been investigated.
