摘要

Printers in Jacksonville, Florida, see their city as a kind of "island," though its population hovers around a million, and by land area it is the largest city in the contiguous U.S. The closest urban area is Orlando, 135 miles away. Miami and Atlanta, GA, are both a 5-hour drive. To remain competitive, printers are practically limited to using trade binderies in town. With high gasoline costs, they can neither absorb nor pass on the escalating freight costs. Their customers won't tolerate longer turnaround times.
