Arecent article in The Washington Post about the acquisition of a PCB shop proved beyond any doubt that circuit board manufacturers are no longer the red-headed stepchildren of the electronics industry. Viasystems may have started the acquisition trend that sparked the attention of Wall Street, but it was the soaring growth of electronics that awakened the national press. And it was the merging of aggressively managed operations like Details Inc. and Dynamic Circuits that proved that PCB "shops" can be sophisticated business corporations, manufacturing complex - and profitable -products.
