Several trends are pushing thermal demands on PCB laminates beyond those of most typically used resin systems. Thicker boards with smaller hole diameters (high-aspect-ratio holes), sequential lamination fabrication, multiple soldering operations, and lead-free solders: All expose boards not only to higher temperatures but also extended time at these temperatures.
