The previous installments the Surface Mount Council series were intended to be informative in nature, with each providing an overview of a particular industry segment. This month, we end with a rundown of important action items each segment faces - and their responsibilities. Descriptions and analyses are easy to provide. Determining courses of action is more difficult. And carrying out a course of action such that the desired result is obtained is most difficult of all. Below are listed specific suggestions the SMC feels are of most importance. Only by acting will the U.S. industry advance beyond the difficulties noted in previous installments.
