The three leading PCB computer-aided design vendors for 2009 were Mentor Graphics, Zuken and Cadence, a leading analyst says. Gary Smith EDA's (garysmitheda.com) data show Mentor (mentor.com) in the top spot, followed by Zuken (zuken.com) with a 23% share worldwide. Cadence (cadence.com) is No. 3, according to the data. By individual software suite, however, Zuken may be the leader. Its PCB sales were $117 million for the fiscal year ended March 2010, with CR5000 by far its lead-ing product. "We think CR5000 has the most revenue and number of users versus all other single packages," Zuken's Steve Chidster told PCD&F in late February.
