Worst Quarter Ever for PCs

Worldwide PC shipments turned in an all-time worst showing in the first quarter, falling 13.9% from the same quarter in 2012. Only 76.3 million units were shipped in the period, according to International Data Corp. The results were worse than IDC's forecast of a 7.7% decline, and the year-on-year contraction marked the worst quarter since IDC began tracking the PC market quarterly in 1994. It was the fourth consecutive quarter of year-on-year shipment declines.
