Global Notebook Shipments to Increase 3% in 2015

Global notebook shipments are expected to increase 3% to 185 million units in 2015, says Topology Research Institute. Business-use models are expected to grow 9% to 88.69 million units, according to the research firm. The firm says Taiwan-based ODMs will ship 136.5 million notebooks worldwide this year and 138.7 million units next year. Quanta will lead the way, shipping 49.5 million units in 2015, up 9% year-over-year. Compal will ship 40.1 million units next year, down nearly 5%. Wistron will ship 22.6 million notebooks, up 4.6%, and Inventec will ship 16.5 million units in 2015, down 3.5%. Finally, Pegatron will ship 10 million notebooks in 2015, down nearly 2%.
