1. Under actual conditions, the afterbay bed in the Vot-kinskaya HPP has undergone serious change, which caused a decrease in the afterbay flow rate z_(AB) = f(Q_(AB)) and an increase in the HPP upstream pressure head. 2. The increase in HPP pressure head caused a change in HPP cavitation characteristic, which impaired normal service conditions of the energy-generating equipment and its operating reliability and efficiency. 3. In designing a short-term work schedule at the Vot-kinskaya HPP, additional limitations aimed at cavitation-free operating conditions should be taken into account. 4. Considering that the afterbay bed in low-head HPPs is prone to scour, it is advisable to inspect the power-generating equipment in other hydropower plants for cavitation-free operating conditions.
