passenger and auto carriers such as the ferry Chi-Cheemaun, which operates between Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula of Ontario and South Bay on Manitoulin Island, have suffered due to a decline in tourism. It was reported that the latter ship was down at least fifty cars a day and ownership was predicting a loss of $1 million for the season.
