This paper presents the main characteristics of a frequency-domain methodology developed for electromagnetic transients calculation. The method incorporates the simultaneous use of some linear and nonlinear elements typically employed in network analysis, such as RLC elements, transmission lines, quadripoles, single-phase transformers, switches, arresters, etc., with elements of the type "electromagnetic field sources," with the format of cylindrical electrodes. This combination of models is appropriate for many studies (e.g., for the accurate and optimized joint simulation of towers, aerial cables, grounding systems, and some utilities and facilities, interconnected or electromagnetically coupled). The method is applied for computing the consequent overvoltages in a typical 138-kV three-phase transmission line stroked by an atmospheric discharge
