Barcelona has called for tenders to construct and manage a new ro-pax terminal for shortsea shipping. Barcelona Port Authority said bidders will be expected to invest €20M ($27M) to build a passenger terminal at Costa wharf.rnThe contract is for 15 years with an option to extend a further seven. The winning operator will be expected to build a multi-storey storage facility for ro-ro cargo if it meets a minimum target on annual traffic. Ferry services to Greece, Turkey and North Africa are on Barcelona's wish-list.
