Many railroads have tools in place to providereal-time, or near real-time, cargo status totheir clients, and more tools are now beingdeveloped by the carriers and third parties totake this to a more granular level. The expansionof this view to include detailed informationon incoming or outbound internationalcontainers would dramatically improve thisvisibility. But this information is not currentlyor readily available to all segments of thetransportation process.
