During late September this year (2006) the naming ceremony of the 5,600 m~3 capacity trailing suction hopper dredger Marieke took place in Krankeloon, Antwerp This new dredger shows the colours of Dredging International, part of the DEME Group. This highly innovative and technologically advanced new dredger was built by Holland's IHC HollandBeaver Dredgers shipyard, part of the IHC Holland Merwede Group, and involves an investment of ?34m for the DEME Group.
