V8 for the 5-Series

Adding a 540i model to complement the recently redesigned BMW 528i was more than a matter of dropping a high-performance V8 engine into the 528i and rebadging the car. True, the 540i shares the same sheet metal as the six-cylinder version, but there are modifications underneath the car, as well as under the hood.
