Growing up in the '60s and early 70s, one didn't have to go far or do very much to be inspired as a gearhead. It pretty much consisted of walking out your front door and watching cars drive by. The muscle car influence was everywhere-on the street, on the TV, in magazines, in school with your friends, in the stores as toys, and chances are-right in your driveway. And because even the most mundane transportation had elegant styling by today's sad standards, cars didn't even have to be fast to be inspirational. It was a target-rich environment where we were enveloped by beauty and performance at every corner.
