At a late stage of development of oil and gas fields clearly detected drop of oil, gas and water cut growth. Successful reduction of water cut in production wells while maintaining or increasing their oil production rate is the main task. Therefore, the topic is relevant and necessary for consideration. The purpose of the article is to study the technology of isolation of formation water, which is integral to oil. The leading approach to the study of this problem is to analyze the water shut off technology. A model of cone formation of bottom water in the production well was also constructed based on the Kumkol deposit well data. In the work, the physical properties of nitrogen were investigated, the use of which in the process of pushing the cone of formation water has its advantages, the main one of which is that it does not cause corrosion of the wells. Also the technology of creating a highly effective waterproofing screen to limit the inflow of formation water to the production well was investigated in the work.
